May Fair  / at work

First introduce to glass blowing a year and ½ ago when I observed Sam stretch a tube of glass and at that moment I knew I wanted to be a glass blower. I immediately asked him for an apprenticeship and he accepted me. Started learning in Los Cruces from a group of artists….studied under Jothen Arreientas…. Started under Sam Yemini…for the first 8 months as well as Flip - flower marbles ratechello are his specialties

While working under Sam I met Flip who was working in the same shop - during that time I learned  various tech : traditional pipe making, wrap and rake through inside out, line work reversals, compression marbles and implosion marbles….

Flip showed me how to make flower and vortex marbles. After my apprenticeship with Sam I started studying with Eligh Copland.  He gave me a greater knowledge work with boro cilicate,  also taught me more technical and scientific glass blowing and advanced techniques such as: reversal stacking, locking up color patterns, stuff and puff, pin wheeling and racking.  I learned extensive pin wheeling.

Currently still studying under Eligh Copland.  Starting to focus more on sclup true and art glass. I no longer make traditional hand pipes.  Most of my time preparing for shows is spent making marbles, pendants and the occasional heady.  Constantly striving to master new techniques.
