Poem: Kiss The Fire of the Dawn | Poem

KISS THE FIRE OF THE DAWN

Kiss the fire of the dawn
draw a breath of the morning chill
Brave the night until it's gone
as the heart of morning starts to fill
With all the light that's had to wait
   cached away in secret places
As all disguise now falls away
   revealing love's true faces
Never ask how long it took
   or question why it happens
   Be content and thus rejoice
   in what the season sends
   Everything must turn around
it is not life to stay the same
Embrace and nurture that soft glow
and draw that spark unto full flame
   One must not anticipate
but rather leave the breeze its will
And kiss the fire of the dawn
to brace against that ling'ring chill.
