THOUGHT-CRIMES OF A STREET PHILOSOPHER

IV - RAGING SUN

I feel a fire burning deep within:
a cosmic, unquenchable, raging sun
       hungrily ablaze,
              an effulgent, inner longing
for unattainable social ideals.

I visualize a different world:
one free of chaos, oppression, and fear -
       a cooperative global democracy -
might I live to see this incredible dream?

       waiting...
I sit in the lap of my true mother -
       long-suffering, still beautiful,
              the blue/green Earth

       meditating...
my life is guided by my true father -
       eternal, omnipotent,
              the mysterious Universal Spirit
