HIGH POINT

Dried grass crackles
underfoot in the prairie night,

A light – soars high,
essential character in split
second revealed.

The music in a soul – rises,
the long stills and silences
are filled.

A moving star poises
to ask in greeting,
“How was your life?”
and
“Welcome to the place
of no return.”
