Rising To The Bait

self-fulfilling prophecy
ghost written biography
somebody shouts out
clues about biology
nobody wants to die
everybody knows the latest craze
trumpets herald the news
dancing off the walls
we have different views
time to make the call
invincible indivisible
nice to see you again
on the silver screen
when times aren't hard
this has gone too far
I peer up at the screen and save
softly parading round the bend

Lies Of A Nature We've Heard Before

orb and scepter
ball and chain
odd gray spector
disjointed season
complain at all and they'll call it treason
king and I in a dying brain
rule our world and feed botflies
tide and waving
accountants slaving
in paroxysms of memory
of mother's mammary
leave at all she'll find a reason
to forget you and go on

Sometimes Scargazing

sometimes I'm blind
sometimes scargazing
a place at the table
with the fire blazing
a world of welcome
with just days to weight
long hours driving
a prodigious rate
sometimes I'm deaf
sometimes scargazing
totally bereft
totally amazing
a world where there's some
people losing wait
finally arriving
when they accept that fate
sometimes I'm stone
sometimes scargazing
ancient untold fable
with hero amazing
(more than just handsome)
no time left to wait

Witches With Their Sigils Crossed

witches with their Sigils crossed
capitalist turning on a dime
living on your nickel
leaving slag and bad taste
Bishop of Worms
turning yesterday into compost
is naturally here
but maybe using minions
we should not abide
