Profound yes, transforming yes. The question is...will the Iraqi people feel safe? will they be free to run their own country? Or will there be more borders created...maybe a few more more borders like China and Rome et al with high tall walls?

British...Tony Blair..Palestinian...renunciation of terror...Bush has said the same thing. That is not going to happen as long as the current regime remains in power, no matter who is elected.
What qualifies as "terror"? Living under the threat of an atomic bombs?
Much of the "free world" is likely to pronounce the Palestinian election legitimate...it can use to badger Israel into making further concessions.
Who proclaimed Arafat as the obstacle to peace, having been proclaimed - how is this a "badger"?
