RESURRECTED METAL

They were the first
But not the last
All that is left
All that remains
Are these three metal plates
What did they see
Why were they spared
When the ship crushed
Like a child's crushing
A box of matches
And when it fell you could see
A falling star
When it is over
All that is left
All that remains
Are three metal plates
Left to tell their story
When someone dies
You ask why them
When someone else lives
When every thing turns and falls away
These three metal plates will stand
In a white room
Where you can hear the breathing
Of the air system
Just a small plaque
Just a name
A tomb to those who
Have gone before
