Out of Oblivion | Poem

A poem a day to the Millennium December 28, 1999

OUT OF OBLIVION

Blind blood sucking mosquitoes
wild dancers in the darkness
probisci inserted into the chi of the oblivious
sucking strength intimidating peace
interrupting meditation
I see only what isn't there
nothingness emptiness
only the angry buzzing of a thousand futilities
and hating the prejudices that I feel

But something should be there
in the fleeting shadows of reality
and I should see it.
I must reach into the emptiness
and pull out its opposite
feel it taste it see it
experience it
get it dirty
remind it that it only
appears invisible
like it admire it
fill the emptiness with it
till the buzzing turns to
three part harmony.
