Has seen eagle return:

Nesting sorties, wakeful dawns,

Contemplative nods of passage.
 
 

Such unlikely intimates:

Bound by vision, journey,

Storm, the sea;

Freedom barely survived.
 
 

Our worlds are linked by

Covenant kept: we shall

Reincise the runes of flight

And live to welcome fall again,

Across the headlands

Of summer shared.
