AH, CHILDREN

Ah, children
     so wise yet so blind
   marching through the darkness
   confident of the coming light
Pay no mind
to those of us who stumble
thus loosing the faith of innocence
Fear no evil
for it lives only in fallen hearts
   and has no real power
   unless you thus acknowledge it
Hold your truth
   as a shield before you
for nothing can deny that first spark
that is the anticipation of the light
Ah, children
   so silly yet so aware
playing with abandon near the chasm
   ah, so happy, so fearless.
