\nthe visceral is spared
\nthe safety net
\nheartbroken mended
\nsongs still singing voices ringing
\nbell curves of blurted truths

\nis a pyramid longly building.

\nBut there is hope Louie

\ntook out of their lives
\ntime and energy to protest war
\nplus the numbers who could not go
\nbut strongly supported.
\nIs it a conundrum
\nto love life so much you can not bear to live
\nin this world of so much brutality
\nsome choosing the shorter path of suicide
\nsome the longer
\naddicted to a lifestyle or chemical survival
\njust a little longer
\nmaybe another sunrise
\nanother heartfelt greeting<\/p>\n
down on the hill where reality sits
\nthere sits cans of
\nAmerican Spirit and Bugler
\nto the left one hand rolled cigarette
\nashtray and coffee next to each
\ntoday’s count two more nails
\n(for coffins not crosses –
\nthose lie elsewhere)
\nbut this is mon day and sun day is over
\ni’m missing one son
