unintended pain
\nhas consequence
\nnot all bad<\/p>\n
intended pain?
\nJeepers how the old Gods
\ninflicted pain on one another
\ngot lightning bolts?
\nor does your cup runneth over with mercy?
\nhmmm
\nwasn’t there a precise measure
\nin tit-for-tat
\nand didn’t we all go blind
\nto the bright shining mirror
\nof reflecting eyes?
\nremember this one reflection
\n“i saw the enemy and is was me”
\nonce seen
\n“life unexamined is not a life”<\/p>\n
this is my story and this is my lou
\nif i hurt you i hurt too
\nsometimes before, sometimes after.
\nsome are more conscious now –
\ni know i am<\/p>\n
and who would not hope for,
\nnot wish for, not work for,
\nthe evolution
\nof our human consciousness<\/p>\n
ain’t it a long road back home?<\/p>\n
and if there is no back
\nand if there is no “hereafter”,
\nis human kindness counsiousness
\nnot worth the work?<\/p>\n
do we need to choose between the acorn and the tree?
\nchicken or egg?
\nyou or me?
