\nMissouri National Guard
\neasy money for the over indebted
\ntook me there too almost my son
\nthought to refuse to sign responsibility papers
\nfor his then 16 year old sister
\nbefore he or i decided
\ni had to lam from alcoholism
\nmore than a thousand miles
\nand the choice was double mute
\nremembering Beautiful Ohio
\nbecoming deadly National Guard<\/p>\n
retired i hope now my friend
\neasy became sand storms and killing
\n10 years post Kent State<\/p>\n
my weekend warrior friend
\nput me in an awkward position
\nin the presence of a Guard member
\nwho, when i expressed my awkwardness,
\nby stating “the National Guard is Kent State”
\ntold me they changed their policy
\nwith their oath including
\nto disobey any order they deem immoral<\/p>\n
praying this is so
\nand all our military are sworn in
\nwith full understanding of the Nuremberg’s Trials
\nand that “I was just following orders”
\nis no defense for an immoral act
\nnot with God
