How did it happen Robert
\nso turned around in academia
\n“Good neighbors make good fences”
\nis all they heard and how they taught
\nso misconstrued the Mending Wall
\nwould rob you of your laureate<\/p>\n
but that sounds too academia racist
\nnot all of any group is one thing or another
\nextremes are always in the peripheral
\nthe lowest common denominator and the pompous
\nwhere poetry rules and regulations became stone
\nthen along comes Thomas and Sylvia et al
\npicked\/gnawed\/suicidal\/bleedings
\nhigh brow or low brow, pudding is the proof
\nupon the points of fences lie two edges
\nthose who want fences declare they are all good
\nand those who wonder whom they might offend
\nor in our laurel poets words:
