Muslims reacted<br \/>\nto the desecration of their beliefs<\/p>\n<p>thank you Imus you succeeded<br \/>\nin reflecting our reality<\/p>\n<p>it wasn&#8217;t enough<br \/>\nall of your good works<br \/>\nto help the black community<br \/>\nto ease the suffering of children<br \/>\nyou were a threat<br \/>\nto the most powerful people,<br \/>\nthe upper crust of politicians<br \/>\nwho have had your shows<br \/>\nfine-toothed combed<br \/>\nno one could argue with you for saying<br \/>\nyou&#8217;d never have Hillary on your show<br \/>\nbut they knew you were human<br \/>\nas the rest of us are human<br \/>\nwho sometimes misplace our left foot<br \/>\nand they were in the mood for bear<\/p>\n<p>I often turned your show off<br \/>\nwhen you were full of too much testosterone<br \/>\nbut I never doubted your good heart<br \/>\nyou did your best to shine your light on<br \/>\nthe poverty that was laid bare with Katrina<br \/>\neven if enough of us did not get outraged<br \/>\n(and their suffering still rages on)<br \/>\nyou did, indeed, do your best<br \/>\nbut that was not good enough<br \/>\nfor self righteous people<br \/>\nwho are out to kill messengers<\/p>\n<p>well Imus, we are the tail end of that generation<br \/>\nthat taught sticks and stones are worse than words<\/p>\n<p>the &#8220;glory&#8221; of Rutger&#8217;s basketball team<br \/>\ncame the day they learned they were in the finals<br \/>\ntheir &#8220;moment of glory&#8221; WAS NOT<br \/>\nthe day they did not win the championship<br \/>\nbut it was you who gave them a national stage<br \/>\nit was you who allowed us to see and understand<br \/>\nthese 10 young women ARE champions<br \/>\nwithout winning the title<\/p>\n<p>you knew nothing about them<br \/>\nwhen you called them nappy-headed ho&#8217;s<br \/>\nso they had no reason to be personally insulted<br \/>\nI, as a great grandmother, flinched<br \/>\nwhen I heard those words come out of your mouth<br \/>\nand wished you hadn&#8217;t said them, and I heard<br \/>\nyour two side-kicks flinch also,<br \/>\nI did not know the women either,<br \/>\nbut I was reminded of a time<br \/>\nan ex-alcoholic husband called me whore and worse,<br \/>\nand laughed at him because I KNEW<br \/>\nfirst, he was not describing me, second, I knew<br \/>\nhe had a traumatized childhood because he was a bastard<br \/>\nand I knew he was called a bastard<br \/>\nbecause his mother was raped at age sixteen<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sad sad sad this morning<br \/>\nthey told you you would would be shot<br \/>\nafter this morning&#8217;s broadcast<br \/>\nbut they caved&#8230;<br \/>\nand I won&#8217;t hear your final comments<br \/>\non the radio because I don&#8217;t have one<\/p>\n<p>now<br \/>\nmy only hope for justice is<br \/>\nthat these 10 women basketball players<br \/>\nwill get to know you as your audience knows you<br \/>\nand they will speak from their hearts<br \/>\nand not thru being coached.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\ud83d\ude41 whites make that mistake often thinking they are one with the &#8216;hood and can speak their street language it is a brave act to be a comedian in the public face trying to project reality back look how &#8220;some&#8221;
