It seems like so long ago.
I was arguing about this old man
stopped on the mall
by a smiling young man
and it meant something
some vague something now.
It is so far in the past
this yesterday,
that world we left,
like we walked out of a room,
and into nature where
saber tooth tigers
pick off the old and weak
and we try to remember
when
we formed a circle
and became
almost divine.
