CHIME GENTLY, DEAR CLOCK
Let time tick softly
down the cypress rows to infinity
where clocks seem to stop
as the cosmos spins on
unaware of gear-makers
digitals
&
boundless schedules
humans inserted to corral time's tocks
as well as toxic tensions
and other inventions
too numerous to mention
no amount of river flow
to cleanse illusions
of confusions of
seconds and minutes
hours and days
weeks and months
segments and quadrants to constrain
or train obedient humans
even as Nature runs free
rarely noting the Time-ly
fee...
