the angler | Poem

the angler

setting for a certain precision
among floaters and sinkers
caught up in the story
hook, line and sinker
seeing now the fishing
the going
is enough
and catching fish is just gravy
and just desserts
unpossessed of a fish finder
pleased that these are new waters
and there are secrets to learn
time to learn the meaning
of the tide and wind
moon and sun
on the stealthy movements
the stealth of shadows and movement
birds and wave
casting a line
the angler becomes obtuse
acute way to go

- broken reed
