fifty years later
overdose of nicotine takes my energy
what i have received
is patience, tolerance, giving, loving, receiving, atoning, forgiving
long way from perfection
but not so long as at sixteen when i felt
less worthy, ignorant and wouldn't amount to a anything
whoknowswhatnobodydoes
yet
having survived sixty-six years
with the help of tobacco spirit
even when i didn't know it it was there
still don't know, but learning...
