The Body and The Blood

by Charles M. Sennott

Book review by Summer Breeze

Mr. Sennott makes his own pilgrimage, with his family thru Palestine and Israel, documenting personal stories.

As a publisher of poetry believing in brevity, I offer three direct quotations from Mr. Sennott's book as validation in suggested reading for a very deep understanding of the conflict once again raging in the land where three religions claim "their" holy land.

"All of the messages of the prophets, Moses, Mohammed, and Jesus, are about peace, and to be kind to your neighbors, to show tolerance. If people really believe what religion said, people would not fight."

"But even if nonviolence could stop the fighting and end the occupation there would still have to be reconciliation - the Palestinians and Israelis would still have to recognize and resolve the injustices they had committed against one another, in order to live together.."

"...the peace process is doomed until each side is willing collectively to recognize the pain endured by the other, and then to forgive the other side for the pain inflicted on it."
