Periwinkle and Dandelions | Poem

PERIWINKLE AND DANDELIONS
Periwinkle and dandelions
Blooming in the snow:
This is New Mexico though;
So warm sunshine soon returns.
Perspective's my trade,
Not because I have it,
But because I so well
Understand the need.
Like Alice through the looking glass,
I run as hard as I can
Just to maintain.
Some people can relax
With a potted fern.
A million acre wilderness
Has not been sufficient
To bring me peace.
But is has at least
Made it overwhelmingly obvious
What it is I seek.
