A Poem a Day to Millennium 12 September 1999
 

WHAT DEPOPULATED

I do not believe the American

Indians, nor Native Tasmanians,

Died off of small pox.

Neither foreign disease nor

Foreign war technology did

Them in.  Shocked despair

Depopulated a hemisphere in the

Face of the appalling power

Of an attitude so insane

To determine all daily human actions.
