“Good fences make good neighbors.” – Robert Frost

How did it happen Robert
so turned around in academia
“Good neighbors make good fences”
is all they heard and how they taught
so misconstrued the Mending Wall
would rob you of your laureate

but that sounds too academia racist
not all of any group is one thing or another
extremes are always in the peripheral
the lowest common denominator and the pompous
where poetry rules and regulations became stone
then along comes Thomas and Sylvia et al
picked/gnawed/suicidal/bleedings
high brow or low brow, pudding is the proof
upon the points of fences lie two edges
those who want fences declare they are all good
and those who wonder whom they might offend
or in our laurel poets words:
“Something there is that doesn’t love a wall.”

Tookie and false Christians

The Last Hours of Tookie

fully awake and knowing
moved to that place of waiting
what happens to a soul
separated from the body
by execution
do the believers in the death penalty
(99.9% purely Christians)
truly understand their desire
is an eye for an eye
and by demanding it from Tookie
they are turning their backs on Jesus
and his teachings?
When will they ever learn?
When will they
ever
learn.

Mother of All Trials for US

if 7% of the “terrorists” in Iraq are outsiders
then 93% are insurrectionists
home boys in other words
this is a war between fundamentalist Muslims and non
it is time to stop arguing about the legality of this Iraq War
President Bush has placed America in the center
yet we are in the unique position
of proving the superiority of doing unto your neighbor
as you would have done unto yourself
will democracy at home survive, you know,
the democracy that respects the rule of law,
without which there is no peace?
If we protect All Iraqis as being equal
and protect for them, the people,
their natural resources, namely oil
from private greed,
and we remove outside contractors,
thus becoming arbitrators
for a true democracy,
a constitution more enlightened,
than our original one,
of which even they allowed,
this document of the people
needed to be a living document
which could be improved upon.

Is it not hypocritical to believe in Intelligent Design
while degrading intelligence?

that secret prisons if they exist
by their nature must be kept secret
ergo it was necessary for the President of Poland
to deny their existence.

America the new Athens

The Bushites are leading America down the same path as Athens,
the true birthplace of democracy.
Athenians prized debate and persuasion over raw force.
The downfall of Athens was believing they were invencible.

1) They sent troops throughout the world,
thus trading democracy for imperalism.

2) Their cruelty grew with military success (including torture).

3) The cost of the military bankrupted Athens.

The love of law made her great
the abandoment of law brought her down.

John Edwards – contractors pull out of Iraq – a good first step

“First, we need to remove the image of the imperialist America
from the landscape of Iraq. American contractors who
have taken unfair advantage of the turmoil in Iraq
need to leave Iraq. If that means Halliburton subsidiary, KBR,
then KBR should go. Such departures, and the return
of the work to Iraqi businesses, would be a real statement
about our hopes for the new nation.

have a crony (in this case Bob Woodward)
put him on National Public Radio
and (CNN’s) “Larry King Live” to “disclose”
his early knowledge of Plame’s identity.
claim everybody knew about Valerie
claim Fitzgerald lied
claim Scooter got a bum rap
ergo revisionist history

but truth has it’s own fine toothed comb
time to spin another cocoon
Mr. Rich and Famous Bob Woodward
or are you under the JFK syndrome?
